Network Engineer

We are, on behalf of our client, looking for a Network Engineer for a long-term on-site assignment. The purpose of this request is to acquire a consultant to support the Infrastructure team.
The role includes the following tasks
Work within a team with a broad set of responsibilities – network, information security, server computer and storage, software development and operation technologies.
Manage the network within a team of 3 network Engineers/Technicians.
Fully support, configure, maintain and upgrade networks and in house servers
Support 400+ switches and access points.
Participate in the on-call process (our of hours support in case of a major incident)
Assist in the next phase of the project to configure and assist in the integration of an additional 300 switches and access point
Provide support for up to
6900 1Gbit copper connections (2100 of them with PoE)
1080 10Gbit/s connections
468 40Gbit/s connections
84 100Gbit/s connections
Install and integrate new network equipment in a green-field project
Conduct firmware and configuration updates
Indentify and include pertinent SNMP MIBs and appropriate alerts to the network monitoring system based on Prometheus
Populate information map using Grafana
Efficient time management whilst resolving end user issues and project based deliverables

Required Skills:
At least 5 years experience in a network administrator role supporting Arista, Cisco, Extreme or Juniper switches.
Hands on experience and knowledge of networking principals, routing and switching technologies.
Experience with either Palo Alto PanOS or Fortinet Fortigate firewalls.
Familiarity with the command line interface of switches as well as Linux distributions such as Debian or RHEL and it’s derivative distributions.
Previous experience of using automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet or Salt.
Proficient in Python programming and experience in using of one of the following python libraries Napalm, Netmiko and pyATS (or similar).
Ability to self-organise, prioritise and multitask.
MSc or BSc degree in Computer Science or related field.
Good analytical skills.
Flexible attitude.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
