Our “Platform Engineering”-inspired infrastructure team is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join us on our journey. Experience in developing large Network architectures
Experience with Linux servers/networking
Experience with Data center infrastructure and Hypervisor / Container based workloads
We have a great preference for non-proprietary and highly reusable solutions. Hence, we build solutions ourselves when we have to and apply open-source for the rest. There are great opportunities to suggest projects and find your own ways to find solutions. We're all ears and eager to hear about your secret recipe of tools, languages, and methods for success.
About the job
The core network of Telavox is built by us. As one of our core Network Engineers, you will transform abstract requirements into robust and scalable solutions that are automated with agile NetOps practices. You will be a part of an Engineering department that works with a DevOps mindset and embraces the idea of autonomous teams. As a platform team, our main goals are to deliver high-quality solutions and enable the rest of engineering to deliver great value to end-users through the Telavox software. You will solve complex questions and problems to design, build, and operate the infrastructure that underlies our global communication service. Together with other product teams, you will support and capture requirements and expand our footprint in new markets based on our commercial agenda.Our favourite tools for the job are currently:
* Juniper, VPP, FRR, and Linux kernel networking
* Kubernetes networking in our private cloud
* Routing protocols: OSPF, BGP
* EVPN, VXLAN
* IPsec/Wireguard for VPNs
* Ansible, Bash, and Python for automation
* Observium, Netbox, Icinga, Grafana, Prometheus
Objectives on the radar:
*Help out with our on-premise data centers managed with automation and standardization over manual intervention.
* Growing international edge network of PoP sites.
* Global routing architecture connects all these sites with resiliency and scalability in mind
* Assist in building the infrastructure API that enables our application developers to self-sufficiently provision and use the infrastructure.
About you
Your experience in network design and troubleshooting, background in ISP network architecture and infrastructure automation, and experience with Juniper and/or Linux networking will truly make us dance our happy dance!You’re a systematic and structured person who drives your assignments forward with both quality and speed. The culture at work is very important to you, and you appreciate collaborating across team boundaries. A bonus if you:* Are passionate about adjacent tech in infrastructure/programming*Have any network certification (but we’re not certificate-driven)*Have any cloud infrastructure certification (AWS, etc.), or experience in setting up and running k8s on-prem
