As SAS (Scandinavian Airlines) emerges from the industry crisis that Covid-19 has caused, what markets will recover, and which markets will see fundamental change in demand?
How should SAS adapt its offering to stay competitive and profitable?
What is the shape of the future route network?
It is the role of the Network team to answer these questions and develop and execute the strategy for which markets to serve and how to serve each market. The team defines SAS’ fleet size and composition and is instrumental in delivering sustainable profits and retaining the airline’s leading position in the highly competitive Scandinavian market.
We are now recruiting a Network Manager with responsibility for planning and managing capacity across a portfolio of short haul routes. This is a key role in the business which involves collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders internally and externally. The position is located at SAS’ head office in Stockholm and reports into one of two Head of Network Areas.
Primary responsibilities
Analyze route profitability, and adapt seat capacity and schedule offering to maximize profits and retain market position
Monitor and analyze market demand, supply and competition in own route portfolio
Identify business opportunities, on revenue or cost side, and drive tactical and strategic route changes
Collaborate with commercial and operational functions across SAS regarding market approach, revenue generation and operational preparedness
Job qualifications
University degree in business administration, engineering or equivalent
Solid track record in business analysis and development
Ideally should have experience of managing a product portfolio
Proficient in MS Office with advanced knowledge in MS Excel
Fluency in English and preferably one of the Scandinavian languages
Key qualities that we are looking for
Highly analytical and enthusiastic about striving for constant improvements
Strong business acumen with confidence to manage risks and uncertainty
Skilled in formulating and delivering key messages internally and externally
Keen interest in the airline business and how to drive customer value
Able to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Positive attitude with a very high degree of integrity and reliability
