Our Exciting Opportunity
We are looking for an internal Field Application Engineer for internal TRX-IC. We encourage applications from recently graduated.
The Digital Radio Implementation group belonging to Common Radio Module (CRM) sector and the digital and mixed signal department with PDU Radio, has the responsibility to implement near antenna algorithmic solutions for radio ASICs (Application Specific Integrated Circuits) and FPGAs (Field-Programmable Gate Arrays) and TRX-IC. The radio System-on-Chip (SoC) is the heart of the Ericsson radio units, which are part of Ericsson’s 2G, 3G, 4G and 5 G base stations.

Your primary role will be to work with our Mixed Signal radio development activities at the Ericsson design center in Sweden (Kista) and be the link between our internal converter design team and global product development sites in China and Canada.
On short term you will work in different areas to build competence.
This position reports to the Manager CRM DMS Digital 3.

Responsibilities
Main technical support for product projects globally
HW design (RF, power, digital) of TRX-IC evaluation board
Support design of FPGA capture board
Definition and implementation of GUI for configuration and test of TRX-IC evaluation board
Definition of automatic test environment
RF and functional verification of TRX-IC
Root cause analysis with respect to performance and functional short comings in TRX-IC
Support and debug for HW/SW bring-up activities in product projects and testbeds


To be successful in the role you have
M. Sc. in Electrical Engineering or similar
Analog and/or mixed signal HW design experience
Understanding of software architectures and layers such as application layer, DLL, API, HAL
Familiarity with SW programming (highly desirable)
Experience working with RF test and measurement equipment’s (Signal generators, Spectrum analyzers and network analyzers) (highly desirable)
Interest to constantly learn, communicate, interact, share information, and are willing to help others between organizations, internally and externally outside Ericsson
Ability to work in teams with minimal supervision but also ability to take initiative and work independently when needed
Quality attitude, ability for critical thinking and a drive to always improve
Open mind and analytical, problem-solving skills
Innovative skills and ability to find creative solutions when lacking information
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
