To further strengthen our CTO team in Gothenburg, we are seeking a New Technology Development Engineer! Are you the one we are looking for?

Our CTO-team

Our CTO team is responsible for scouting, analyzing and developing new technology and IPR for coming product development. We work with cutting-edge technology at the forefront of development, in close collaboration with the R&D department and other parts of the company. The work involves analysis of emerging technologies and identification of the most promising technology strategies. We also manage the company patent portfolio and related IPR questions.

What will you do?

As New Technology Development Engineer, you will be involved in identifying new technologies and solutions for application in coming products. The work is very varying, ranging from high level system architecture optimizations to detailed implementation proposals. Most of our topics relate to microelectronic systems and biometric recognition, including the promising area of fingerprint-enabled smartcards.

Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Technology scouting, analysis, strategic technology choices, and technology development
• Early technology studies (research, concepts, prototyping, verification, system architecture)
• Identification and prioritization of technology & IP opportunities and risks
• Interaction with external suppliers, partners, and customers

Your professional and academic background

• Deep technical knowledge and academic background, with a Master or PhD degree in the relevant technology areas, such as Microelectronics, Material Science, Physics, or equivalent
• Experienced in driving technology assessments
• Knowledge of designing and prototyping complex technologies
• Experience in productification & industrialization of relevant concepts and products, preferably in an international setting
• You speak, read, and write English fluently

We value if you have some understanding of how IP can be leveraged to provide a technology and business advantage. We believe you have interest in understanding patent landscapes around relevant technologies, as we expect you to contribute with own patent ideas and strategies to secure the company’s position. If you have knowledge in the areas of Secure Elements, Energy Harvesting, NFC and Smartcard systems, this will be regarded as very beneficial (though not a requirement).
