SAS is enhancing the operating model and has established a new AOC registered in Sweden.
SAS Link will be the name of the airline operating a future in-house regional and midsized E195 aircraft fleet. SAS Link is a vital platform for SAS to continue as infrastructural provider in Scandinavia that links traffic on smaller routes, that are not feasible to operate with a large jet aircraft, with our broader network for global accessibility. SAS Link will operate under the SAS brand and customer promise.
We are now looking for a nominated person Flight Operations to SAS Link.

The Nominated Person Flight Operations ensure operation is conducted in accordance with SAS Link procedures, EASA requirements and other applicable regulations issued by authorities as well as conditions and restrictions of the EASA compliant SAS Link AOC. Further ensure that cost and customer satisfaction meet set targets.
Implement strategic changes in the Flight Operations Department that deliver the highest standards of safety, motivation of the department’s employees and high productivity and cost effectiveness of Flight/Cabin Crew.
To promote a strong safety culture to sustain the highest levels of health and safety management for all employees within the department and for the flight operation.
You will be a part of the management team at SAS Link and report directly to the CEO at SAS Link, located in Stockholm.
Main responsibilities
• Ensure a management system
• Establish, maintain and publish a safety management system for continuous identification and evaluation of risk exposure and consequent mitigation of risks
• Establish, maintain and publish a quality management system, excluding compliance monitoring, for quality control and supervision
• Ensure proper and efficient use of financial funds
• Establish, amend, distribute and control OM-A, subordinated manuals and flight operation information
• Liaising with the Regulatory Authorities, aircraft manufacturers and other external entities as deemed operationally necessary
• Ensuring all Crew has the necessary qualifications to perform their duties
• Management and supervision of all activities within the Flight Operations Department
• Ensuring efficient document control within the scope of Flight Operations Department
• Continuous monitoring of flight safety matters and ensuring that all regulations are followed
• Managing compliance within flight operations, including establishment of root cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions
• Securing a safe and efficient crew model and governance with clear delivery demands and an efficient oversight and control to ensure the safe, secure, and efficient overall operation of SAS Link aircraft operating under the EASA-compliant AOC
• To implement strategic changes in the Flight Operations Department that deliver the highest standards of safety, motivation of the department’s employees and high productivity and cost effectiveness of Crew
Qualifications and personality
• Stakeholder and Supplier management and cross functional leadership in a multinational environment
• Significant leadership and managerial experience at executive level and change management
• Capability to manage challenging negotiations and developing the business, ensuring sustainable and professional partners while securing SAS interest
• Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices
• Familiarity with Compliance Monitoring, Safety Management and Security Management Systems
• Comprehensive knowledge of applicable EASA regulations and any associated requirements and procedures
• Master’s degree level or equivalent
• 10 + years of relevant work experience
• Fluent in English, both verbally and written, Scandinavian language preferable but not required
The NPFO must be acceptable to the CAA and have managerial competency, comply with the requirements defined by EASA and Transportstyrelsen together with appropriate operational qualifications in aviation.
The NPFO should hold a valid Airline Transport Pilot's License issued or validated by an EU Member State, appropriate to the type of operation conducted under the AOC.
To be successful in this position you are able to build strong and trustful relationships with key stakeholders and comfortable to make recommendations and take decisions without all the facts. Your strongest asset in this position is your excellent leadership and your experience of change management. You have a reflective mindset, thinking forward, listening and observing the organisation and are goal oriented.
