This position, based in Gothenburg, has a dual role as Safmarine Country Manager for Sweden and Nordic Manager. He / she is responsible for the performance and bottom line of the Safmarine offices in Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. This concerns both the directly controlled activities (sales & customer service) as well as the outsourced functions. Managing a sizeable and geographically widespread team, the Nordic manager will take Safmarine into a future of interesting and exciting opportunities where Safmarine's ambitions in the Northern Europe area will be achieved - while dealing constructively with Dual Branding and our "Customer Engagement" objectives. Roles and Responsibilities - To ensure that the Nordic cluster is focused on activities supporting Safmarine - To recommend, agree and execute on an effective commercial strategy with the North Europe Manager - Drive cost and efficiency improvements in the Nordic cluster Essential Job Tasks - Drive performance management in the Nordic countries - Execution in line with Safmarine Commercial / Liner and ensure performance meets targets - Ensure that sales is carried out effectively basis Safmarine parameters - Liaise actively with the Trades to ensure dynamic pricing achieved in line with yield/utilization targets - Ensure frontline customer service is carried out in line with Safmarine strategy - To provide an exemplary customer experience through internal/external processes and differentiate on Access and dominate on Experience - To constantly endeavour to standardize and optimize sales/customer service processes and manage outsourced activities such as Operations, IT, HR, Finance - Ensure Safmarine team under Nordic responsibility performs effectively - To effectively identify/attract/develop and deploy talent to meet both long/short term business targets Learning Opportunities - Leading/managing under complexity for business results - People development and team management - Develop a business strategy pertaining to local context - Risk Management Leadership Capabilities The position will require the candidate to perform as a Leader of Leaders: - Select leaders and optimize the organization - Align objectives with business strategy - Delegate and follow up - Coach and develop leaders on both leadership and functional expertise - Assess and hold direct reports accountable for both their leadership and functional roles - Manage boundaries and allocate resources between teams Functional Capabilities Change Focus - External commercial focus - SAFMARINE business development - Take decision authority Execution Mindset - Follow through - Conflict management - Enable the organization to act - Cost consciousness - Standardize and innovate processes - Leadership - Realize opportunities and manage change process Give Authority - Drive accountability - Set targets and ensure support - Identify and coach talent - Delegate and empower Measurement - Drive performance management - Ensure clear KPI are in place - Fact based decision making Consequence Management - Objectivity - Reward performance - Make the tough decisions Qualifications - Minimum 5 years of proven commercial group experience - Personal, committed and understanding - Strong and confident shipping knowledge - Basic knowledge of Finance - Good communication skills - Self-motivating, confident and ambitious Please apply on www.maersk.com
