Region Östergötland is the main health care provider in Östergötland county with approximately 13 000 employees, 11 600 of which in healthcare. Three hospitals and 43 primary care centers are provided for the general population, as well as 40 public dental clinics. The university hospital in Linköping serves the southeastern part of Sweden with 1.2 million inhabitants.
We are now searching for nurses with work experience or interest of working with rehabilitation to our clinic Rehabilitation Medicine. The clinic Rehabilitation Medicine is responsible for the specialized rehabilitation for patients with spinal cord and acquired brain injuries. The clinic has 16 care places and is a resource unit for the southeastern healthcare region in Sweden. We receive patients at an early stage of acute illness or injury. Our unit has two care places for intermediate care, patients who have a need for supervision and are often in need of respiratory care. We work in multi-professional teams where patients, relatives and healthcare professions formulate patient rehabilitation goals. Job description
Do you enjoy varied tasks where you have the possibility to follow the patient's rehabilitative progress closely? With us, you have the opportunity to have longer patient contact, good continuity of care and to follow the patient's journey towards maximizing quality of life based on their changed conditions.
In our unit, many of our patients are medically stable, but there are also two high dependency care places, where you as a nurse have more medically challenging patients who may be ventilator dependent. Our unit is well staffed, with our assistant nurse group ratio being larger than at most other clinics.
The assistant nurses are very experienced and take responsibility for basic patient care as well as more advanced procedures such as intermittent catheterisation. You will be supported as a new starter by our specialist rehab nurses within a structured mentorship program.
You will work within a multi-disciplinary team including medical, physio, occupational, and speech therapists, social workers, psychologist, etc. Our teams are characterized by a great commitment to the patients as well as a great support for each other within the team. Our unit has cutting edge expertise and experience within the rehabilitative field and our team will be happy to share their knowledge with you as a new nurse in Sweden.
Requirements
• Registered nurse within the EU/EEA
• Merits for work experience within the rehabilitative field
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft office
• English and Swedish language skills

For this position you’ll need to have a positive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure. You have good communication skills and enjoy working within the team environment. Furthermore, you are committed to the role and you like to be involved and creating a positive and happy workplace.
Support in the recruitment process for licensed healthcare professionals from another EU country
After completing a digital interview with a clinic, you are connected to the International Office, which is a support function within Region Östergötland when it comes to recruiting healthcare staff from other countries. Through them, you will get guidance and support throughout your recruitment process. The parts that can be supported for example is a visit to Sweden and the clinic, language training, government contacts and establishment in Sweden (housing, school, child care, etc.).
You will also be contacted by EURES / Your First EURES Job for the opportunity to receive any mobility support. The support is always given based on your and your family's specific needs.
Before moving to Sweden you need to reach a certain level in the Swedish language and have your nurse training recognized by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/en/licence-application/.
Your employment will start with a clinical trial and introduction period, combined with further language studies. If the trial period will be proved satisfactory and you demonstrate required skills recognized by the County Council of Östergötland, it will automatically turn into a permanent employment.
Salary
All contracts follow local and national collective agreements. Salary are set individually depending on your qualification and experience. Nurses from 2700 EUR per month.
