ON-LINE MARKETING EXECUTIVE JOB DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES Summary: Over the last few years the travel and hospitality business has undergone tremendous change. One of the most significant changes has been the proliferation of the Internet. Price transparency, third party intermediaries, and speed of information have all changed the marketing and revenue management game. Winning in this new environment requires market-based plans that target customers by ensuring online marketing and distribution tools are integrating into the overall marketing plan. The Online Marketing Executive will report directly to the Director of Sales or Director of Revenue Management with a strong functional reporting line to the Area On-line Distribution Manager. He / She will be responsible for driving local marketing and distribution solutions that will improve the markets overall RevPar index and other key financial and customer metrics. Objectives: 1. Responsible for driving local marketing and distribution solutions that will improve the markets overall RevPar index and other key financial and customer metrics. 2. Ensure content (photography & descriptions) of the following on-line channels remain accurate and brand compliant. - Starwood branded web-site - Third party sites - Destination specific & local tourist board web-sites - Local Website - Ektron Landing Pages 3. Identify and evaluate new third party web-site opportunities to increase Internet production and drive on-line market share. 4. Increase understanding of on-line booking patterns by analyzing factors such as demographics, geographics, search words used, search engines utilized, as well as tracking production through on-line channels. 5. Provide monthly report on production, trends, booking and stay patterns as well as channel analysis. 6. Drive knowledge and understanding of E-commerce within the hotel through communication of online results, campaigns and other activities. 7. To be the contact point for advertising agencies and other suppliers of online advertising material and / or tools. 8. Promote on-line opportunities to in-house guests ensuring that all marketing collateral effectively promotes the web-site address. 9. Identify and target market segments booked through traditional channels that may successfully be driven on-line. 10. Manage Starguest communication tool to develop effective promotions as well as targeted & customized marketing campaigns. 11. Manage all web/HTML based communications and promotions, ensuring that content, is brand compliant. 12. Keep up to date with Starwood brand and advertising standards and activities on starwoodarchives.com. 13. Digest and analyze online revenues, campaign results and online trends. 14. Based on the information provided above evaluate the performance of our branded website and give suggestions for how to promote and improve the presence of the Sheraton on the web, with the intension of increasing number of bookings. 15. To participate in traditional marketing activities with brochures, new products, and material whether this be web or traditional.
