Purpose of the Job
The main purpose of this position is to fit our generic ETCS Onboard Automatic Train Protection System (ATP) into a specific vehicle (train) type. By this, the role includes overall engineering work, from site visits (mainly in Scandinavia, but also UK and South Africa), with electrical and/or mechanical design. Since this is an integration of a safety critical system, a great portion of our work is electrical design, creating schematics, write installation/de-installations manuals, analysis of requirements and documentation of the same.
It is easy to learn within the team since we have an open discussions climate and the team consists of people with wide and deep experience willing to share their knowledge.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Development and integration of electrical systems throughout the entire development lifecycle.
• Produce electrical schematics, drawings and defining the bill of materials.
• Produce documents needed for the creation of safety cases and release info about the onboard system integration.
• Field surveys and data management including vehicle investigations.
• Write test cases/scenarios both standstill and operational.
• Produce the deviation reports based on deviations from the Technical Specification.
• Interfacing with different stakeholders, both internal and external.
• Participate in bid estimation work for new potential contracts.
Qualifications
Key requirements:
• Engineering degree in either electrical/mechanical engineering or relevant field.
• Experience working with Electronics, electrical wiring, installations, schematic drawings.
• Knowledge and experience with schematic drawing programs.
• MS Office knowledge is mandatory, including VISIO.
• Knowledge of DOORS and Rational Synergy will be considered a plus.
• Experience of ERTMS or other safety-critical systems is highly valued.
• Open minded, easily adaptable, positive attitude towards new challenges.
• Analytical, meticulous/accurate, and self-propelled.
• Team player and result-oriented with a positive mind.
• English and Swedish at a fluent level are mandatory for this role.
