Haugesund is a city in the region west of Norway. Haugesund is the regional center for 1100.000 inhabitants. From Haugesund airport it takes 20 minutes to the central of Haugesund and to Haugesund hospital.
Haugesund Hospital has a permaenent oncologist position availaeble at the day care unit. Haugesund Hospital is an general hospital, located in the city of Haugesund. It is a part of the teaching facility network of Regional Health Authority of Western Norway. You will work in a team with others oncologists from Haugesund hospital and Haukeland University Hospital ( HUS).
Most of the patients in Haugesund have gastrointestinal cancers or breast cancer. You will also treat patients with other diagnoses in consultation with oncologists at HUS.
Full-time, permanent position for a specialist in oncology.
We are looking for an oncologist who has interest in professional development and teamwork. Doctors in their final year of specialization can also apply.
Work description
- Primarily daytime work
- The work consists of consultation, ordering cures and consultation at departments with admitted oncology patients (there is not a dedicated oncology ward) and some administrative work
- Collaboration with palliative team
- The oncologist will be a key person in the development of cancer patient services in Haugesund
- The work place will be Haugesund, but ambulance may be necessary for the other hospitals

Qualifications
- The applicant must have Norwegian medical council authorization as a doctor along with recognized specialization in oncology.
- Applicant must have relevant hospital work experience.
- Applicant should also have high level language proficiency (written & oral) in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language.
- Experience from palliative care is an advantage
