Permascand AB is one of the leading producers of electrodes and electrochemical equipment, serving process industries worldwide.The range of services includes also design and construction of lightweight, strong, corrosion resistant products for various markets, sale of titanium materials, and research and development.The company has about 130 employees and is located in Ljungaverk, close to the geographical middle-point of Sweden.Permascand AB is a subsidiary of Eka Chemicals with 3000 employees in 30 countries and is a business unit within the AkzoNobel organisation.
We offer one year of a full-time employment at the R&D department of Permascand AB for research and development of electrode materials.The work is initiated within the seventh framework program "ELCAT" or more specifically Surface Electrochemical Reactivity in Electrocatalysis: A combined Theoretical in Electrocatalysis and Experimental Approach.
Job description
.Research in material science and electrochemistry.In specific: to synthesize single crystals for in situ electrochemical studies using Surface Tunnelling Microscopy (STM) and other surface characterization and electrochemical methods.
.Communication of results and gained experience to colleagues within Permascand AB, ELCAT network, and conferences through oral presentation and written documentation.
.The work includes some travelling and attending courses in the ELCAT network program
Job requirements / Candidate profile
.A PhD recently obtained in material science and/or electrochemistry.
.Be an EU citizen, but not resided, worked or studied in Sweden more than 12 month in the last 3 years.
.Have the ability to work in teams and develop networks both internally and externally.
.Ability to express yourself confidently in English.
.Pedagogical skills to transfer experience and knowledge.
.Experience in Surface Tunnelling Microscopy (STM) and/or synthezis of single crystals is a merit but not a requirement.
.Since networking is a key aspect of ELCAT, candidates outside the AkzoNobel organisation have priority.
