Online Quality Control Specialist

Role Purpose The purpose of this new position within Quality Control (QC) is to improve the operability of on-line control instruments in the PE plants. You are expected to lead a step change in on-line and automated testing skills throughout QC, production and maintenance departments. You will act as instrument owner and method owner of all on-line and some off-line instruments at QC lab. Contribution - Be the local hard and software specialist for on-line control instruments. - Follow up and report operability of on-line control instruments. - Trouble shoot and suggest improvement of on-line control instruments. - Participate in or coordinate local improvement projects. - Develop methods used for on-line control together with QC engineers. - Educate QC, production and maintenance personnel in on-line control. - Start-up new on-line control equipment. - Coordinate calibration, supplier repairs and maintenance on on-line instruments. - Lead of a team of QC lab technicians with special tasks within on-line control. - Participate in relevant Borealis networks or project teams. Knowledge, skills and experience - Degree in Chemical Engineering or similar (MSc or BSc) - Knowledge in polymer technology - Knowledge in automated analysis or control - Skilled in IT/computer systems - Minimum 5 years of relevant experience from lab or production - Problem solving ability, dealing with complex solutions - Fluent in technical English Behaviors - Innovative and creative - Analytical thinking - Teamwork and co-operation but also ability to work independently - Achievement orientation - Concern for order and quality Other information Permanent position with expeced start date as soon as possible.
