Operation Improvement Engineer

We are looking for an Operation Improvement Engineer to provide hands-on continuous improvement support and coaching in the production lines with managers, team leaders and operators. Your location will be Gruvön Sawmill and you will be working in Division Wood Product. You will report to the Operation Improvement Manager.

Main responsibilities
Enable continuous improvement of mill productivity and OEE in line with the decided targets
Implement the Stora Enso Mill Change Program structure in the mill
Support the stakeholders in root cause analyzes (RCA and HTO methodology)
Coach the Team leaders and operators in autonomous maintenance, creating standards and tracking deviations
Be a role-model and provide daily hands-on support in production lines for continuous improvement of the mill productivity, efficiency and flow of the process
Enable sustainable implementation and development of Wood Products OI system in the mill through training and coaching in key system elements, based on mill needs and status
Coach leaders and operators on daily improvement leadership routines and team coaching
Ensure systematic implementation, accuracy and regular follow-up of OI data and KPIs in the mill
Management of selected mill production improvement projects, activities and events
Collaboration and best practice sharing with other mills and Wood Products OI team

Qualifications
In order to succeed in this role, you have some experience of Lean manufacturing tools and OI work. Your proficiency is based on a technical background, preferably a degree in engineering or years of experience from other relevant areas. Experience of how to implement continuous improvement thinking, routines, and methods. You have a passion for continuous development of processes and people, a go see mindset and good problem-solving skills.


You are a great communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, and you communicate fluently in Swedish and English. This position may require travelling.
