About us
SEEL – Swedish Electric Transport Laboratory, a new test and research center for electrification, will open on the 31st of May 2023.
SEEL is co-owned and co-managed by Chalmers University of Technology foundation, and RISE – Sweden’s research institute – working alongside the industrial partners we need to make the transition to electromobility a success.
We will offer test, research and verification on batteries, cells, modules and packs, electric machines, drivelines and full vehicle testing including. The equipment will be brand new and when we welcome our clients at the opening day, they will meet both a Heavy duty complete vehicle climate test cell and a Light duty complete vehicle test cell, heavy duty and light duty powertrain rigs, electric motor rigs and ISO 3745 NVH rig with axle dyno.

We are now looking for an Operation and maintenance manager who will play an important part in developing SEELs operations.
About the role
In the role as Operation and maintenance manager, you will get the opportunity to build a small team from the beginning and work alongside them in the daily work. The Operation and maintenance team will offer expertise in automation, heating, cooling, and electrical and mechanical work. You and your team will be responsible for the maintenance of the operations and test facilities that are intended for testing electrical machines, electrical axes, E-transmissions, complete vehicles light and heavy duty, noise vibration and harshness, battery test equipment and charging systems. This role is responsible for rigs and supporting systems and the landlord is responsible for maintenance and service of the building and connected facilities.
Your team contribute to rig up time and performance and in rig calibration. You also manage logistics and handling of supplies and material. You will work close with the operators of the rigs, test engineers, group members in the operations and maintenance group as well as our customers. All employees at SEEL are involved in the group's improvement work to meet new upcoming requirements.
As an Operations and maintenance manager you will enter in the establishment phase where the building is under construction and the equipment has not yet been delivered to site. During this phase it will be your job to cooperate with building contractors and the equipment suppliers to secure a successful launch and a good operation. You will work close together with the management team of SEEL, set the strategy for SEELs inhouse capabilities regarding support and maintenance, and put in place relevant service agreement with suppliers.
You will report to the CEO of SEEL and join the management team. Your workplace will be in Gothenburg but the role also covers the facilities, support systems and rigs in Nykvarn.
Who are you?
We are looking for a skilled individual with a few years of experience - or even more. Your practical experience will be highly valued as well as your knowledge around typical test processes and equipment’s. Experience from up-time management and budget work is needed. Your educational background could be from technical gymnasium to a university degree.
Knowledge about supporting process systems and experience from programming PLC or automation systems would be meritorious. If you have any experience from leadership we see this as a plus but it is not mandatory.
We communicate in Swedish or/and English, so you need to be fluent in at least one of the languages. However, good knowledge in English is a merit. We believe that you have a social, transparent, and pedagogic approach to mentor your group and colleagues.
