Position: Operations Graduate Program - Diagnostic Engineer/Test Developer (DETD)
I If you are up for the challenge of developing the next generation of production plants or distribution centers and want to be a part of the innovative world of Volvo Group, this is the graduate program for you!

During 15 intense and exciting months, the program will give you a holistic view of the Volvo Group’s global truck manufacturing organization. You will get to know our different brands and their plants and learn about our logistics organizations and activities. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end-to-end supply chain, aftermarket parts, and our remanufacturing operations. You will be part of the transformation in our industry, working with new technologies and building the competencies for tomorrow.

In parallel, you will grow your interpersonal skills through individual and team development sessions. You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will have the opportunity for several “on-the-job” rotations and experience working on real project assignments. In addition, you will join a number of learning modules where you get together with other program participants to take part in training and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.

This is us, your new team:
Our team, TPE SWE SW&EL consists of 21 motivated and highly skilled engineers and we are responsible for quality assuring the production process with regards to Embedded Software (ESW). This is done utilizing our in-house developed SW tool PROSIT+ in which we create, maintain and execute test operations by triggering the ESW in the trucks different electronic control units.
We are responsible for preparing the implementation of the Product and Process changes with the operational teams in the plants and we interact with product development departments. We also participate in developing the Manufacturing Technologies of the future, in relation with Volvo advanced Engineering teams. And we also participate in the journey to reach Excellence by developing the Volvo Production System in the Engineering environment.
We structure our daily work according to Agile principles and we work together as a team utilizing one and the same backlog for all our tasks.

As the group manager, I have an open-door policy as I see trust and open communication as my core values. A constant and fruitful dialogue is essential to get a common view and alignment. Some responsibilities: 
Specify requirements for assigned area and provide product information for analyzing the impact on manufacturing solution.
Evaluate and recommend product concepts related to ESW and participate in coordination activities with global stakeholders.
Design, develop and verify tests and calibrations for production by using ESW handling tool (Prosit+), for both new product development and maintenance.
Review and interpret technical documentation considering compliance with legal demands, existing manufacturing processes and strategies, to identify needs and impact on production.

Job Description: 
Diagnostic Engineer/Test Developer is responsible for our testing strategy when it comes to ESW.
You will together with Product development investigate, develop, release and maintain needed operations to quality assure the production process. Electrical vehicles are getting more common and in this position you will be one of the first within the industry that gets to work in these exciting new times and environments.

Who are you?
To be successful in this role you will possess the following qualifications:
A BSc or MSc in engineering science, computer science, business administration or logistics.
Maximum two years of previous working experience, prior to or after graduation.
To be a communicative team player with the ambition to develop both yourself and the business that you are working in.
Valid work permit for applied country if not a citizen.

You have solid skills in the English language, both written and verbal. Other languages are a merit. You have a strong drive and energy level with the courage to implement changes when needed. You can create commitment and give directions as well as set and follow up clear objectives. You have a strong customer focus and the ability to share knowledge. You have a drive to develop yourself as a professional and accept new challenges. An open, multi-cultural mindset is required. To be a successful candidate, beside technical skills, you also need to enjoy interacting with people of diverse backgrounds and organizational belongings as well as realizing the importance of customers, production, and quality requirements within both product development and production preparation.

Main activities and responsibilities:
You will be part of TPE SWE SW&EL team developing our portfolio. In that perspective, you will prepare the implementation of the Product and Process changes with the operational teams in the plants and you will interact with product development departments. You will also participate in developing the Manufacturing Technologies of the future, in relation with Volvo advanced Engineering teams. And eventually you will participate in our journey to reach Excellence by developing the Volvo Production System in the Engineering environment.
