Volvo Group Operations Graduate Program
If you are up for the challenge of developing the next generation of production plants or distribution centers and want to be a part of the innovative world of Volvo Group, this is the graduate program for you!

During 15 intense and exciting months, the program will give you a holistic view of the Volvo Group’s global truck manufacturing organization. You will get to know our different brands and their plants and learn about our logistics organizations and activities. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end-to-end supply chain, aftermarket parts, and our remanufacturing operations. You will be part of the transformation in our industry, working with new technologies and building the competencies for tomorrow.

In parallel, you will grow your interpersonal skills through individual and team development sessions. You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will have the opportunity for several “on-the-job” rotations and experience working on real project assignments. In addition, you will join a number of learning modules where you get together with other program participants to take part in training and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.

Our organization:
Umeå Plant is one of the Volvo Groups' largest plants. With 1700 employees, we are one of Northern Europe’s largest industries. We produce cabs to Volvo Trucks, with everything from stamping sheet metal to welding and painting complete cabs. Our facility is one of the world’s most modern with advanced technology and competent employees.

The Volvo Production System (VPS) is our interpretation of Lean and the main way of working with Continuous Improvement in Volvo Group. It should be a part of everything we do.
We as coaches respond to organizational needs by building knowledge about our production system. We are a team supporting the organization with methods and tools that we continuously improve together to live up to our values. The team works closely together and even though we have our own specialty within the group we collaborate to find new improved ways of working. For us, it’s important to have fun at work. Fun is a great enabler over time.


Job Description:
You will help guide us through the digital transformation into Industry 4.0. You will be a vital piece in the puzzle to handle the shifting trends in research and development demands where customer problems are focus and speed is key. We fail fast and early, and we dare to take risks. The area of responsibility is our work with predictive and prescriptive analysis. What will happen and what do we need to do? Given the opportunities of big data and increased automation and AI, what needs to be done for us to stay relevant as world-class producers in the future?

Who are you?
Our future digital transformation leader is an innovator and thinker with a technology design and programming background. You are creative, initiative and thrive in complex problem-solving, and have the social and communicative skills required to navigate us into the future of industry 4.0.


Required knowledge/experience
Formal education: MSc in AI, data science, robotics, computer science, or similar.
Experience: Theoretical and practical knowledge of programming, computer systems, operating systems, and computer communication.
Maximum of two years previous work-experience prior to or after graduation.
Valid work permit for applied country if not a citizen.
Competences:
Man-machine interaction
Machine learning/ Artificial Intelligence/ Intelligent robotics
Knowledge of lean
Ability to coach and train others



It is required that you can speak, read and write both Swedish and English
