Volvo Group Operations Graduate Program
If you are up for the challenge of developing the next generation of production plants or distribution centers and want to be a part of the innovative world of Volvo Group, this is the graduate program for you!
During 15 intense and exciting months, the program will give you a holistic view of the Volvo Group’s global truck manufacturing organization. You will get to know our different brands and their plants and learn about our logistics organizations and activities. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end-to-end supply chain, aftermarket parts, and our remanufacturing operations. You will be part of the transformation in our industry, working with new technologies and building the competencies for tomorrow.
In parallel, you will grow your interpersonal skills through individual and team development sessions. You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will have the opportunity for several “on-the-job” rotations and experience working on real project assignments. In addition, you will join a number of learning modules where, together with other program participants, you take part in training and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.

GTO Powertrain Production (PTP) is where engines and transmissions, the heart of the Volvo Group, are built. We are a high-speed production organization producing world-class performance. You will be part of the PTP Supply Chain Support team, a team with high ambitions to reach results, that has a continuous improvement mindset, and a team that values collaborations and lifelong learning. You will report to the Director of Supply Chain Support. As a manager, I will give you frames and direction and from there you need to drive your daily work autonomously. My aim is to create trust in us, the team, and that we have an open mindset. I am a passionate person when it comes to Logistics and I have challenging demands.
Supply Chain Support is a function within PTP Logistics. Our scope is 5 plants worldwide, 14,000 parts from 1,100 suppliers delivered by 1000 shipments per day, every day. We are responsible to secure Material Control competence and ways of working for the PTP Material Control function. This is done by collaborating through the global organization, GTO Production Logistics, and with our Material Control Managers located on the PTP sites. We want to make a difference by being there for our colleagues and our customers by providing competence and ways of working that will allow us to successfully reach a world-class Supplier Delivery Performance. All over the world. Every day. In our plant we drive almost 50,000 transactions per day in logistics and procurement. One of our biggest transformations right now is to move our manual ways of working into digital formats.
The team consists of 7 autonomous, high-performing persons with their own specific skills and tasks, spread out on our Powertrain plants in Sweden, France, the US, and India. All are in their daily work, collaborating with our plants and other support functions like Production Logistics, Purchasing, Project Managers. We are driving improvements daily, to make the ways of working a little bit better tomorrow.
Job Description:
As Project manager Digitalisation in PTP logistics, you will take on the task to improve work that is today very manual, by creating digital solutions. You will work together with the Supply Chain support team, Material controllers, and Material control managers on our sites to create and implement the best solutions.
Apart from being a curious and well knowledged “hacker”, you need to enjoy cross-functional work and the challenge of getting diverse cultures to understand each other and work together. You should be a true believer in teamwork and being successful together by working systematically towards a target. You need to be flexible about what challenges the day will bring.
Main activities and responsibilities:
You will work in close cooperation with the Material controllers to understand their daily struggle and propose improvements. Providing this support to key areas will be done through performance analytics initiatives including individual business intelligence strategy, data visualization implementation, and data literacy. Since we aim to improve you will review reporting packages to maximize efficiency and support with automation. You will oversee Business Intelligence support and Data Analytics.

We also believe you have the following with you:
A BSc or MSc in engineering science, computer science, business administration, or logistics
Maximum two years of previous working experience, prior to or after graduation
Solid English skills
To be a communicative team player with the ambition to develop both yourself and the business that you are working in
Valid work permit for the applied country if not a citizen
