What´s in it for you
You will be part of the product area Corporate Worklife focusing on enabling a great worklife for Volvo Cars employees and consultants, located in the Digital Core unit. As Operations Lead you will be responsible for the Product Area spanning across 6 digital product clusters. With strong leadership skills and a collaborative mindset, you will have an important role in the continued transformation of the Corporate Worklife product area!
What you’ll do
As Operations Lead within Corporate Worklife you will be accountable for driving product area operational stability and “always on” culture. You will be responsible for end-to-end working business processes across various products, applications and technology layers. You will be working with Product Managers and Product Owners to define and maintain the release roadmaps, including decommissioning, with the non-functional requirements to manage operational risks and keep our IT systems safe, maintainable and stable.
Moreover, you will be managing the service levels and driving efficiency in the cost levels. You will be part of the product area leadership team and be responsible for operational stability and optimization. You will define, cascade and drive overall OKRs from an operational perspective within the product area.
Another part of the role is to manage incidents and severe level disruptions. It includes responding to deviations when notified manually or automatically and initiating remediation activities against any potential degradation or loss of service. You will also be driving the resolution forward through the Product Managers/Product Owners until solved and communicated to stakeholders.
Lastly, you will be driving and safeguarding relevant methodologies, processes and tools for the operational scope. This means that you will be working with a lean mind-set and with practices to implement operational rigor of daily management, problem management (5 Why) and kaizen continuous improvement culture. You will be ensuring seamless Dev and Ops integration and co-signing changes to the operational state, making sure all non-functional requirements are in the backlog of the scrum team.
Do you fit the profile?
To succeed in this role, we believe that you have senior leadership capabilities and the ability to interact with stakeholders and teams on all levels, providing both clarity and structure as well as being a servant leader. You are an enthusiastic team player with great interpersonal skills. You have a passion for developing others, and you have an agile mindset. You have the ability to explain and drive importance of operational aspects to business stakeholders and product teams, with accountability and quality as a signature mark of everything you do.
You have an IT professional background - BSc or equivalent experience in relevant field. You are technical and skilled in operations management, IT infrastructure and complex technical environments with focus on non-functional requirements. You have experience from working with tools and methodology to drive “always on” environment (monitoring and other instrumentation). You have experience from an equivalent role in a global company with similar complexity.
Furthermore, you understand industry practice operational processes and methods (ITIL, DevOps or similar). You have solid experience in IT processes – incident – problem - change, and knowledge of different commonly used IT technologies (security, databases, middleware, servers). You have experience in cloud infrastructure and cloud security, risk management and cyber security. You are probably driving infrastructure and application modernization today.
We expect you to be able to drive and take part in technical vendor negotiation. You are fluent in English.
