About the position
We are looking for a driven, self-disciplined, confident and convincing Operations Manager to join our Team, at our plant, in Ljungsarp.
As Operations Manager, your main goals are to ensure out-put to achieve on-time delivery to customers against agreed schedule dates and deadlines. Your responsibilities will be achievement of both Production´s, logistic and Operations KPI´s including delivery, cost, quality, safety and inventory. Furthermore, you have a responsibility to plan, develop, organize and co-ordinate the production team´s activities, in order to maximize production, within a safe, efficient and effective working environment. You will be responsible for managing a distribution outlet. This job will entail transacting with shipping companies to facilitate smooth distribution activities. You are responsible for planning and coordinating warehousing and transportation in the distribution chain.
You will also direct forecasting, customer service, production planning services and manage personnel and direct daily operations. To maintain stock balance regarding raw, semi and finished materials and to keep our order systems up to date regarding customer orders/forecasts. To maintain planning parameters to be as optimized as possible and follow-up on forecast and make necessary corrections. You drive operational performance through lean techniques and active involvement of the production workforce.
Responsibilities
Responsible for ensuring out-put to achieve on-time delivery to customers against agreed deadlines.
Responsible for the achievement of both Production’s and Operations KPI’s including delivery, cost, quality, safety and inventory.
Hold Sales Order Planning meetings and ensure the manufacturing requirements are clearly established.
Implement, improvement and change activities to solve bottleneck problems and drive up the performance of Production / the facility.
Manage manpower resources, train and develop employees to achieve their full potential.
Understand and comply with employment legislation, with support from HR
Ensure effective communication, promote teamwork and a ‘can do’ culture.
Manage Health, Safety and Environmental activities to ensure compliance with legal and company requirements.
Develop and Performance management of Production teams
Working with other departments to ensure Business objectives and processes are followed and maintained.
Review Manufacturing processes and efficiencies utilizing lean toolbox
Implement and deliver 5S program improvements to meet KA standard level 5 (And Sustain)
Requirements
Significant experience of manufacturing operations within an engineered products business.
A proven understanding of Lean tools and techniques and their implementation to improve performance.
Experience of managing ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.
Able to schedule a busy workload – Good Time Management
Supervisory experience, managing a department through team/cell leaders.
Manpower management and development skills and experience
Able to analyze data for reports and understand figures
A strong, clear communication style, excellent motivational techniques and a collaborative approach to delivering objectives.
A good solid Manufacturing / Engineering background.
Good working skills of MS Office
Experience of Health and Safety legislation
