Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. Autonomous technology is one of the vital enablers for this transformation. After several years of research and development in autonomous technology Scania is now looking for a colleague to reinforce our Operations team within Autonomous solutions.
Job description
The Operations manager role is highly flexible and will include building a collaborative network across Scania organization both in Södertälje but also with the concerned business units, partners and customers. In the current situation we are in a start-up phase where we experiment, learn and develop the future organization for Autonomous Operations. Key elements are to find ways to scale operations and to develop and test concepts for our future product and autonomous solutions. This includes taking up and testing roles for the future control towers, support flow and other related autonomous specific roles. Activities include, but will not be limited to:
• Operations partner in ongoing and/or new initiatives to execute strategy 2025, support colleagues within operations and validate financial figures and set up for operations.
• Lead Operations activities.
• Develop, test and execute operational concepts in close collaboration with the Autonomous Solutions team.
• Translating and mediating between technical specialists and executive management.
• Fleet controls and configuration in initiatives. (Be part as Fleet Control Manager or Configuration Manager on site or remotely for some initiatives).
Your Profile
We are working in a start-up environment and we believe that you dare to try, manage the risk and that you are capable of making decisions based on limited information. For this role we are looking for persons that are structured and keen problem-solvers with a pragmatic and solutions minded attitude. You have technical competence for troubleshooting both on-board and off-board autonomous system. The position also requires an excellent ability to identify challenges and break them down in to actions.
Future development of the role requires flexibility for travelling and/or relocate to other place based on where Control tower is set up in the near future.
Requirements
• University degree from relevant technical/Business education
• Technical knowledge of autonomous system and other relevant fleet management systems. Candidates will be expected to participate in development in operations set up and troubleshooting
• Experience from transport and tech industry and IT-integration is positive
• Experience from lean production (SPS/or similar) and maintenance (TPM) is positive
• Relevant work experience from logistic operations is a merit.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Independent, hands on problem solver at different levels. Takes clear ownership of tasks.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
