Operations Manager, production industry

Our customer is a global market leader within the production industry.With cutting edge in R&D and a strong and genuine customer focus, the company has maintained its market dominant position throughout over a century.The company operates in more than 100 markets with a very strong brand and a long successful history. The Operations Manager will have full responsibility for the projects to establish new manufacturing units in Brazil, Russia and China as well as for running these operations in the future.The role will in the future potentially include establishments in other growth markets as well. The Operations Manager will be responsible for defining the optimal supply strategies, design the manufacturing units, establish the production and run the operations through a local Factory Manager in all three countries, applying the best practice of DPS. In summary, key responsibilities are the following: - Develop the factory organization - Develop efficient processes for execution of planning, forecasting, replenishment, inventory management etc - Implement and execute MRP/ERP systems - Implement the Production System - Implement and introduce plans for manufacturing excellence The Operations Manager will report to the Global Manufacturing Director and be a member of the Global Manufacturing Leadership Team. The Company is looking for a natural leader with high ambitions and ethical work standards, strong drive, strong results orientation and commitment to success.We believe you have an academic degree in Engineering and at least ten years experience from an international production environment, managing individual factories or a network of factories in the mechanical industry.You have manufacturing experience as well as experience of sourcing and logistics and have been involved in restructuring efforts where modern productivity improvement methods have been implemented.The role also requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, and a true interest in the people development dimension of the responsibility.Since this position is highly international, there is flexibility around the home location of the Operations Manager and you ha to be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
