GEODIS is expanding and we are looking for two Operations Managers with passion for leadership and business to our department Global Accounts Sea. As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations for one of our teams working with one of our largest customer accounts in Sweden. This is a new position, where you will be involved in designing the character of the role and the direction for your team.

Your role
As Operations Manager, you will manage the daily operational business and activities. The department consists of about 35 employees, split into different customer groups, who coordinate ocean freight for our customer. You will be responsible for one of the teams, with about ten employees. You will work in close collaboration with the department manager, Manager Ocean freight GAS, and the other teams and functions within the department.
Your key accountabilities will be:
- Responsible for daily operations, including implementation of new SOPs and processes
- Be the customer’s main contact for day-to-day operational issues
- Full staff responsibility for about ten direct staff
- Motivate, inspire and develop your team
- Manage employee development and Performance Management according to company policies
- Implement and align company processes, policies and routines
- Responsible for team meetings
- Participate in customer activities and meetings representing the team/department and the company
- Drive recruitments with support from the department manager
As Operations Manager, you will get the opportunity to lead and develop a team working with one of the biggest customers within the global shipping industry. You will be situated in our Gothenburg office and report directly to Manager Ocean freight GAS. Business travels in Sweden and abroad may be required occasionally. This is a permanent position, with start on agreement.
Your background & competencies
We are looking for a leader who acts as an ambassador, with passion for developing and motivating others. To succeed in this role, we believe that you have a degree on Bachelor level or equivalent work experience. You have 5-10 years of experience working with ocean freight forwarding, preferably export. Previous experience from leading a team is a merit.
Other requirements for the role:
- You establish and maintain good customer and supplier relations in a professional way
- Good knowledge and experience of working in Office 365, with focus on Excel
- Proficient communications skills in Swedish and English
- Experience from working in CargoWise is a merit
