Operations Planner

ValueOne is looking for a Supply chain talent for a consultant assignment as Operations Planner at a manufacturing company in Västerås. The assignment must be filled as soon as possible.

The role  

As Operations Planner you are responsible for generating a production- and material plan, as well as Work In Progress (WIP) inventory rationalization in order to improve service levels and optimize working capital. You will assemble and analyze all data pertinent to creating a constrained engineering (for Engineered-To-Order businesses) and production plan. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the master planner, material planners and production/warehouse manager.

Main tasks:

Generate detailed production schedules to maximize resource usage and meet production specifications and schedules.
Inventory and WIP planning (work in progress).
Coordinate with the department's other planners to ensure that your plans correlate with the overall plan for the factory.
Have a continuous dialogue with production managers regarding the material availability.
Obtain sign-off from Production Managers and enter it to the Integrated Business Planning process.
Monitor performance, identify root causes of any deviations, and implement relevant improvements.


 

Experience and competencies  

This job is a great opportunity for those of you who recently completed a higher education in logistics or supply chain management. It’s meritorious if you have experience in production and material planning. We expect you to be fluent in English, both written and spoken. Experience of working in the ERP system SAP is desirable. The person we are looking for should be comfortable with and enjoy keeping track of several activities in parallel while balancing stakeholder’s interests.
