At the moment we are looking for the second trainee to our Operations department.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?
At Operations we are responsible for the supply and distribution of Axis’ products, including Purchasing, Order handling, Production, Sourcing & Production Preparation, Sales & Operations Planning, Quality and Logistics. We are approximately 200 persons within Operations. Based in Lund, we interact with other Axis departments and a worldwide network of customers, distributors, suppliers, manufacturing partners and our configuration and logistics centers.

The trainee position will give you a thorough introduction to Axis, to the Operations department, and to our global supply chain. The program is focused on Purchasing and Material Supply, key functions to understand the challenges and opportunities we have to master to continue the strong growth in Axis’ business. We are looking for someone special, and we expect you to deliver high quality output from day one!

The trainee program has three distinct phases:

* Phase I: Material Supply. You will be a part of our Material Supply team, continuously monitoring and improving supplier performance, and finding potential cost savings in our supply chain. You and the team ensure that materials are delivered on time by placing purchase orders, and keeping our business system updated with the latest information from our suppliers. You will work cross-functionally, and will get valuable insights into Axis’ products, markets, and our global supply chain. Your work is critical to us.
* Phase II: International project. This will be done at one of Axis’ international electronics manufacturing suppliers (EMS), most likely in America or Asia. The project will build on your skills and experiences from phase I.
* Phase III: Sourcing. You will join our Sourcing team where you will participate in cross functional projects, working in close cooperation with R&D, Operations, and our manufacturing partners. You will secure material in the prototype and production ramp-up phases, review and estimate BOMs (Bill of Material) in terms of cost and sourcing alternatives, and together with the commodity managers develop our supplier base.

Apart from your functional managers you will be assigned a mentor that will support and guide you throughout the entire program.

After the program you will join our Operations Development team, were we initiate, facilitate and drive strategic projects to improve our business, both internally and in our global supply chain. You will be a vital part of the team, and will be fully responsible for your own projects.

In addition to the 3 months full time at the EMS, the position will also require some travelling during your time in Lund, approximately 5-10 days. 

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for a fresh or recent graduate from Industrial Engineering & Management (I), Mechanical Engineering (M) or Technology Management (TM). Your studies have been focused on Supply Chain Management and/or Business & Innovation, with good results. We are looking for someone that is ambitious and social – teamwork and collaboration are essential to your success at Axis. In addition, you are structured and analytical. You can work independently but at the same time you successfully collaborate across organizational and cultural borders.
