RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and Chalmers University of Technology foundation jointly own SEEL – Swedish Electric Transport Laboratory, a new test and research center for electromobility, which will open May 2023 in Gothenburg, Nykvarn and Borås.

SEEL aims to create an arena for research and development of new technologies for electrified vehicles, vessels, aircrafts and more. The center is part of a “IPCEI (Important Project of Common European Interest) on Battery” project notified to the European Commission. The equipment will be brand new and when we welcome our clients at the opening day, they will meet heavy duty complete vehicle climate dyno, Light duty complete vehicle 4WD dyno, heavy duty and light duty powertrain rigs, electric motor rigs and ISO 3745 NVH rig with axle dyno. We will offer facilities for test, research and verification on batteries, cells, modules and packs, electric machines, drivelines and complete vehicle testing including NVH and tempered testing.

We are now looking for a “Operator of advanced battery test equipment” who will be a key player in SEELs successful start of operation within a field of energy storage testing. About the role
In the role as “Operator of advanced battery test equipment”, you will be responsible for preparation and installation of test objects. You execute predefined tests within energy storage (batteries, fuel cells and other storage opportunities the future will bring us) which includes the daily operation of the testbeds, reading test instructions, preparing, adapt automatic test systems and code test cycles for example. You contribute to maintain necessary documentation for the laboratory during the process. Other typical tasks could be the maintenance and calibration of test equipment. The team strives for optimal utilization of the laboratories, and your insights will be highly valued.

The position is a permanent full-time employment at SEEL. You report to the Director Energy Storage and your team will be in Gothenburg and Nykvarn. Your workplace will be at one of the two sites, which one is up to you! Travel may occur.

Who are you?
Our “Operator of advanced battery test equipment” needs knowledge about electrical measurement techniques/technology, gained either from education or work experience. Your educational background is within a field of electrical/electronical, mechanical, chemicals or medical labs for example. We welcome a recent graduate who is open for a challenge in this exiting environment – a pulsating hub where industry, institutes and academy meet each other.  

Nevertheless, work experience would be meritorious, we value practical experience from working in the automotive industry, with some type of mechanical or electrical tasks around electrical vehicles. Another interesting background would be work experience within chemical or medical research lab facilities. Basic programming skills and good understanding about typical test objects is also seen as a plus. We communicate in Swedish or/and English, so you need to be fluent in at least one of the languages. However, good knowledge in English is a merit. Driving license B is mandatory.

As a person you are driven, eager to learn and an early adopter. You are structured, systematic, careful and organized, but at the same time able to solve the problem on-the-fly. We need you to be flexible and agile, with the ability to work on different tasks at the same time. Just one thing more - we only recruit team players!
