Job Description
AFRY's optics group is growing, and we need more consultants for our assignments! Now we are looking for you who is a specialist in optics and photonics. As a consultant in the optics and photonics area, you will work in both in-house assignments and assignments at the customers.
Within the optics group, an important part of the work is to ensure that there is good team spirit. Regardless of the assignment, we always keep in contact with the group members. It should be easy to ask questions, and you should always feel that you have colleagues to discuss things with, within or outside your specialist area.
What challenges do we offer?
You'll meet challenges in various areas with applications of optical systems. For example, in advanced laser systems for material processing and lithography, LIDAR, and various types of optical sensors. Classic lens design and design of lens systems such as objectives, collimators and projectors. Design and construction of measuring and verification systems with optics and of optical systems or components, and also optimization of lighting systems and light-guiding for communication between electronic devices or aesthetic and practical purposes. Besides this, we offer our clients optics related courses and tailor-made educations, or we can simply act as advisors in optics.
Your first assignment will involve testing and evaluating lasers in the blue region. The tests focus on both optical properties and performance stability, followed up by solving any identified issues together with the laser manufacturer and the rest of the optics team.
Qualifications
We are looking for somebody with an academic education in optics or photonics or with equivalent work experience. It’s great if you have previously worked with RnD. In addition you have experience of building and working with optical measurement setups, ideally in a clean-room environment. You will have a lot of contact with colleagues and customers, which means that you need to have good knowledge of English, both orally and in writing.
