Oracle Database Administrator

Experis Engineering finds and retains the most qualified engineers in the labour market. We are now looking for a consultant for a long term assignment as DBA at our customer, a telecom company in Stockholm.


Job description
The Database Administrator primarily works within these processes:

Ensures that the capacity of the databases matches the evolving demands of the business in the most cost-effective and timely manner.

Ensures that the availability of databases meets or exceeds committed In Service Performance (ISP) levels.

Other responsabilities include:

Handle data lifecycle management. This includes tasks such as: sizing of storage areas, removing old data according to guidelines, control of disk usage.

Control our backups and procedures for restoring data.

User management with regards to roles, access and object rights.

Align database security to the Security Policy.

Staying up to date with current and new technologies.

Outline and enforce best practices for SM and R&D and make sure these are followed as well as improved when necessary.

Outline and enforce best practices for DBA team, i.e. object naming, change management, partitioning and other conventions.

Keep stage databases under control and in line with production.

Qualifications
We beleive that you have a MSc. or other academic degree in Computer Science or Engineering, in combination with related work experience. Competence in MySql is preferred.
