Your mission
This is an interesting position with broad international networks and many contact points, spanning from internal stakeholders to external suppliers. You’re responsible for managing the outbound sourcing connected to the Solid Round Tools business. You do this by defining category strategies and supply plans aligned with our overall business strategy. By close collaboration with the Solid Round Tools organization, you set processes to enable our strategic direction. Your daily work includes lots of interactions, and you take the lead in evaluations, supplier selection, negotiations, and the creation of agreements. You proactively build expertise and gather business insights for the future, and you’re always on the lookout for synergies that gain competitive advantages and investigate how economic trends and shifting market dynamics could affect us. Other essential parts of your mission are to develop an efficient supplier base with sustainability, quality, delivery, and total cost on top of mind, and to keep track of contract compliance and supplier performance.
But that’s not all! You also lead exciting developing sourcing projects together with cross-functional teams. With your knowledge and experience, you help us make informed decisions in global sourcing strategies, working collaboratively with the SMS brands with outsourcing possibilities, resale, and the balance between make and buy.
We offer a flexible working location, and you can be based at any of our Sandvik Coromant offices around the globe. International travel is, under normal circumstances, a natural part of the position.
Your profile
We’re looking for a commercially focused sourcing professional with broad experience within the field. You have ideally been working several years in a global setting, managing a wide supplier network. You’re familiar with sourcing connected to resale and have successfully driven outsourcing activities. With a track record including product management, category-driven purchasing and sales or finance, you’ve got what it takes to advise in outsourcing and make/buy evaluations and decisions. You also know how to negotiate around these types of agreements, and you’re used to closing deals and managing multiple stakeholders. Any previous experience from the manufacturing industry and the area of metal cutting would be very beneficial. Your knowledge is supported by a relevant degree within Engineering, Business, Economics or similar, and as we’re such a global player, you also need excellent written and verbal skills in English.

Connecting with people and listening to the needs of our business are key elements in this job, and you build trusting relations and focus on team success. As an experienced purchaser, you take lead in your assignments, and you have a strategic mindset and a doer’s approach.
