Position Description
Packaging is a fundamental parameter in the full supply chain, from supplier to the point of consumption in production. For most people it’s one of those fundamentals things that just is, and who can tell why it’s as it is? But behind the packaging there a strategy and a team maintaining that strategy. The Packaging Engineers make sure that the packaging used allow for our logistic and production systems to be run smoothly. Your responsibility as a Packaging Engineer, is to work with all the stakeholder and define how each and every part is to be packed. The cases may come from anywhere and anyone in the logistic chain. Sometimes it’s new parts for our upcoming new products, sometimes it’s solving and ergonomic issue, and sometimes it’s to realise an amazing process improvement. One thing is for certain, It’s the Packaging Engineer that make sure we end up with a solution for the full system, not only the requester at hand.
Within GTO E&BM the Packaging Engineers are locally stationed but work in a Regional Packaging Team. You will be responsible to align and set the packaging for all the plants in the team, while being the connection to your local plant. We are both local and regional in our approach and take pride in connection the local production environment with the bigger supply chain.
As a Packaging Engineer you have to go outside the box, literary, and tie together all and everyone that has an interest in the packaging. End to End is the game, and you are the one tying it together using packaging.
