Packaging Engineer / Förpackningsingenjör, Arla - Southern Sweden

Packaging solutions - many different types of material
Your tasks consist of identifying, optimise and implement, profitable and functional packaging solutions for designated products. This means that you will have close contact to packaging development, Product Management and dairies. In close collaboration with your colleagues, you will:

Take lead cost saving initiatives on packaging.
Take lead in coordinating activities Cross countries on a specific packaging type and towards the supplier.
Support operations and logistics by specifying, and reporting: line and transit trials for packaging developments and investment projects.
Support operation optimising the OEE from a packaging angel.
Acts as packaging advisor to the business and dairy.
Ensure documentation for packaging is obtained and maintained in the database.
Reduce complexity in cooperation with commercial and purchasers.


Moreover, you stay informed of the latest trends and materials, are an important part of the solution process and secure run ability on the production lines when realising implementation of the packaging.

As you in this role will be travelling to dairies in Falkenberg, Kvibille, Kalmar, Falköping and Jönköping, with most activity in Falkenberg and Jönköping, we believe that you can be based in proximity to one of these sites or be based out of a home office somewhere in southern Sweden. You can probably expect around 50-70 one-day travel days per year depending on where you are based.

Solid packaging experience and an innovative mindset
You have a background as engineer within packaging, mechanics, chemistry or equivalent background and you have worked for at least 3 years with liquid boards, films and flexible construction, thermo and form filled sealing or similar. You need to be familiar with the special requirements for food packaging. The combination of theory and practice has given you solid knowledge of material capability and test, OEE optimising as well as insight into the latest trends within packaging material.

You are enterprising and resistant and don’t give up until you have solved the challenge. You are innovative and have a technical mindset that makes you the professional and well-informed colleague we are looking for. To top it off, you are able to understand our customers’ requirements and use this knowledge in the entire product development cycle. Lastly, you are known for your good cooperation skills, and you both thrive working on your own and in teams with colleagues and suppliers.
