Arbetsbeskrivning

THE OATLY WAY

Oatly is a company built on the idea of change. Our mission is to help people upgrade their everyday lives and the health of the planet by making tasteful oat-based food products accessible to a wider audience in a world-class manner. It's why we come to work every day. And because health and sustainability are so close to our heart, we are more than just another food company - we are a lifestyle company. Our growth is fast - and accelerating. More and more people choose to switch to a plant-based diet for the sake of their health and the planet. With headquarters in Malmö and production in Sweden and the US, our products are available in almost 30 countries across Europe, North America and Asia.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU?

This is an opportunity for two package engineers to join the Packaging Solutions team at Oatly. In these positions you will have direct impact on the choice of packaging solutions in one of the world’s most innovative and sustainable companies. Your challenge will be to secure the best available and most sustainable packaging solutions for our products, making sure that we are in the forefront also in food packaging. To achieve this, you will be working closely with a wide range of internal and external partners, including our suppliers, our market organisations in EMEA as well as our global supply chain operation organisation. We are a new team being formed in Oatly, so you will have plenty of chances to impact how we work and the choices we do in packaging solutions.

THE ROLE

Your main responsibility will be to lead packaging solution activities in close collaboration with all key functions in the organisation to find the optimal packaging solution for the total value chain throughout the products lifecycle. We are looking for two slightly different profiles; one more geared towards primary packaging and one towards secondary and tertiary packaging.

As a Packaging Solution Engineer, you will have the chance to:

- Build organisational “know how” on how to execute package activities, including creating new processes, procedures, and methods.
- Work in close partnership with product developers, production developers, commercial teams, suppliers, sourcing specialists, sustainability specialists and external consultants.
- Drive the requirements management related to packaging solutions.
- Drive definition & execution of verification and validation plans in relevant test environments.
- Create and maintain packaging documentation & specifications for primary, secondary & tertiary packages.
- Drive risk assessment & root cause analysis related to packaging solutions.
- Continuously scout for new more sustainable packaging solutions.

Both positions are based in Landskrona and will require travelling to different manufacturing/supplier locations, mostly in Europe.

WHO YOU ARE

For both roles we see that you have an education within Engineering. We also see that you bring a minimum of five years of theoretical and practical experience in the packaging area and a well-rounded knowledge of its impact in the value chain. Being fluent in English is a must.

To be happy and succeed in the role focused on primary packaging, we hope to see you check the following boxes:

- Experience of and knowledge in packaging construction both in terms of technical solutions as well as design for sustainability, recycling, and production.

- Knowledge in the product development process within packaging areas.
- Knowledge in technical test methodologies; primary packaging and package performance.
- Self-sufficient in Physical testing with knowledge in Requirement Management procedures.

It would be a great advantage if you also bring knowledge in sustainable packaging materials and food package interaction principles.

To be happy and succeed in the role focused on secondary & tertiary packaging, we hope to see you check the following boxes:

- Experience of and knowledge in construction both in terms of technical solutions and design for sustainability, recycling and manufacturing.
- Knowledge in the product development process within packaging areas.
- Knowledge in technical test methodologies.
- Self-sufficient in Physical testing with knowledge in Requirement management procedure.

We would be even happier if you bring knowledge in sustainable packaging materials. If you want to really impress us, you also bring knowledge in Global standards for distribution/transport test.

As a person, you have strong communication and analytical skills, which helps you manage complexity and ambiguity. You are curious and courageous and being in a situation where you create your own guidelines gives you energy. You are a team player who also will take own initiatives and drive activities to implement multiple projects in a timely manner to meet required deadlines.

YOUR APPLICATION

We welcome people from all backgrounds who see sustainability and health as important values. If you have the curiosity, passion and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let’s do this together! It will be fun! Please apply at the latest on 2021-02-21.
