IKEA Components holds a unique position within the IKEA value chain. We develop and supply IKEA with customer friendly component solutions for better products – and better homes. This includes a responsibility for selected components and raw-material, which means develop, purchase and supply to IKEA suppliers. IKEA Components also have the assignment to provide After Sales service of components to the end customers. Our business is global and today employs 1400 people based mainly in Sweden, Slovakia and China. 

But that is not all, we are currently growing. By taking over the responsibility for IKEA retail equipment we are on a journey towards taking our assignment to the next step, creating a new IKEA business that is even more affordable, accessible and sustainable. The retail equipment range is an important part of the IKEA identity. It supports presenting, selling and handling of the IKEA product range, strengthens the IKEA Brand and helps visitors enjoy the full IKEA experience.

We are now looking for a Packaging Solution Engineer

We are looking for a Packaging Solution Engineer to our business area within store equipment.

You will be part of a product development team with an overall responsibility for the packaging solutions, to secure that our products reach our stores neat and clean in all our sales channels. Our packaging solutions are and has always been an important part of our business. 

You will work in close co-operation with different stakeholders throughout the value chain as well as throughout the product lifecycle. This is done with a continuous improvement and right from the beginning approach, and always with a strong customer focus.  

As Packaging Solution Engineer you will:

•    be responsible to develop, optimize, improve and document packaging solutions based on set standards and guidelines, always with a continuous improvement approach and a strong customer focus
•    be responsible to verify that the packaging solution comply with set requirements and customer needs
•    work in close co-operation with stakeholders throughout the value chain to identify needs, requirements, limitations and opportunities so that our packaging solutions always meet the needs and changes in Supply Chain, sales solutions and selling patterns.
•    contribute in the development of common packaging standards, requirements and shared solutions
•    follow performance related to packaging and identify packaging improvement potentials 
•    be part of and/or lead identified packaging improvement projects
•    contribute to the circularity agenda with your packaging expertise
•    capture learnings and actively share knowledge connected to packaging.
•    be part of a development team and work in close co-operation with colleagues both within the business area, as well as colleagues from other organizations/functions, for example engineering matrix, material category, purchasing, supplier, distribution, transport and retail.

The position is located in Älmhult, Sweden. Älmhult has commuting possibilities with hourly trains to Malmö, Lund and Växjö and an IKEA shuttle bus back and forth to Helsingborg three times a day.
