Privacy headings are more and more common in the news but Privacy is nothing new to Scania; ‘Respect for the Individual’ is one of the core values we sincerely try to live up to. To support this, the central Data Protection Office was established in 2018. It currently consists of the Group Data Protection Officer and three Privacy Specialists but we need to expand with a Paralegal. Are you the expert we are searching for?
The Data Protection Office works closely with a global network of skilled Privacy Officers and Data Protection Coordinators, to support and monitor the Scania organisation in relation to privacy and data protection. We are acting in a world of constant changes; in addition to the Scania business constant digital progress, there is a constant flow of new and updated data protection legislations around the globe. As part of our support to the business we ensure there are legal contracts in place for various personal data transfers within Scania and TRATON, as well as with VW. With increased global presence and cross-border collaborations the workload has significantly increased for the Data Protection Office. This is where you potentially can make a big difference for us.
Your tasks
The goal of this role is to be the expert in managing all types of Data Protection contracts and to support the colleagues in the Data Protection Office with primarily legally related matters.
The tasks include but are not limited to;
• Data Protection Agreement management, e.g.;
• propose and agree on distribution procedures together with internal stakeholders
• distribute agreements and attachments for signatures
• keep distribution lists log-book of signed contracts up-to-date
• drive contract management improvements related to efficiency, quality, and consistency, which also includes system support
• Legal research, as well as drafting and reviewing legal documents in collaboration with the Legal Privacy Specialist
• Coordination of events, conferences, news updates, etc. for different stakeholders
• Maintenance of the Intranet website for Privacy and Data Protection
• Keeping the Privacy Network in Sweden, as well as worldwide, informed of important updates regularly
Your profile
We are looking for a candidate who has a genuine interest in Privacy and Data Protection and a customer-value-focused approach. You are a result-oriented team player but at the same time able to take own initiative and work independently. The position means international cooperation, thus effective verbal and written communication skills in English, in general, and regarding legal matters in particular, are required. Do you recognize yourself in this description?
Furthermore, we find you need to have the following education and experiences:
• Two-year paralegal education, or similar
• Experiences from contract handling
• Aptitude for efficient administration, and thereby also for improving the way of working for all involved in the process
• Strong drive to make things happen amid uncertainty (due to changes in laws or in their interpretation/applicability etc.)
• Interest and skill to take on a coordinating role at the Data Protection Office to organize different activities/deliveries
It is not a must requirement but an advantage if you have:
• Practical experiences from compliance work in general and data protection in particular
• Been exposed to a Contract Management software platform
• Practical experience in advanced contract management
• Skills in German, verbal and written
• Skills in Swedish, verbal and written
