Part Time Marine Driver

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION

The duties involve operating a passenger vehicle to transport the Marine Security Guards (MSGs).

The incumbent is, under the supervision of the Detachment Commander, responsible to be on stand-by to be able to:
1. Transport MSGs to and from the Embassy for duty changes.
2. Transport MSGs for official Detachment related business, social functions, and recreational activities.

3. Keep the vehicle in a clean and serviceable condition and perform daily vehicle inspections and minor preventive maintenance.
4. Transport MSGs to and from the Embassy for Emergency Reaction purposes.

5. Other duties as assigned by the Detachment Commander.

Temporary position until May 6, 2011 with possibility of extension/becoming permanent.

Part time; 24 hours/week. 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday nights.

All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

- Completion of secondary school, high school or GED equivalent.
- The applicant must have a valid driver's license (class C) as well as previous chauffeur experience, preferably in Stockholm and surroundings. An understanding of the Stockholm traffic patterns is a must.
- At least 21 years old with at least 1 year of driving experience to have a good geographical knowledge of Stockholm.
- Incumbent must be able to use good, sound judgment on safely operating a vehicle.
- Level 3 (Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing Swedish is required. Level 3 (Working Knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing English is required.
