Patent Attorney Automotive Components

Arbetsbeskrivning

Transport is one of the industries where development in electrification is moving fastest. Scania is investing heavily in this area and the pace of development is rapid. As the Patent Department works in close cooperation with the product development, this means that there is a great deal of patent-related activity.

As one of our team members is moving on we are strengthening our team with another Patent Attorney in the area of automotive components.

Today we are 16 Attorneys and Assistants at the Patent Department and our office is located at Scania Technical Centre in Södertälje. The commute from Stockholm is easy with our own commuter bus departing from Cityterminalen and Liljeholmen.

This is what we offer
As a Patent Attorney at Scania you are responsible for the patent portfolio within a specific technical field. It is your responsibility that the products and services developed within this field are adequately protected on relevant markets and that these can be introduced on those markets without risk of being blocked by third party rights. Most of the case prosecution in Sweden and before the EPO is made in-house, and in other countries via local agents.

Within your technical field you have close contact with the R&D engineers to harvest new inventions and with R&D management for decisions throughout the application process. You work closely with the development projects to gain insights about the long-term strategies. You are also an expert resource in IP related matter for other parts of the company, such as e.g. purchasing and marketing. You will potentially also represent Scania in IP matters in development project we have with other parties, e.g. within the Volkswagen group.

Our team members provide high quality service within their fields and to facilitate this we offer continuous training and personal development both in IP, Scania´s products and areas related to Scania’s ways of working.

Working part time on a distance has now become the new normal.

What you contribute
We are looking for a Patent Attorney with at least a few years’ experience from industry, Private Practice or a Patent Office. It is particularly advantageous if you are competent within the field of vehicle technology, and in particular automotive components such as chassis components. It is also advantageous if you are a European Patent Attorney or have started studying for the EQE.

You find it easy to interact with others but are also comfortable processing tasks on your own within your field. You must be open for new ideas and willing to change the way things are done. Since most of our correspondence is in English and Swedish, you must be proficient in this in writing as well as speaking. It is also advantageous if you have at least basic knowledge of German and Swedish.
