Patent Attorney for Medical Devices (Sweden or UK)
AstraZeneca has opportunities for Patent Attorneys to work in the field of Medical Devices.The successful candidates will fulfil a strategically important position working on cutting edge science in an international team.

AstraZeneca employs over 60 Patent Professionals and 30 Patent Assistants based in Sweden (Södertälje and Mölndal), the UK (London and Alderley Park in Cheshire), and in the US (Wilmington and Boston).The open positions may be located in Sweden (Södertälje or Mölndal) or in the UK (London), depending on candidate.
These opportunities are global roles and will involve domestic as well as international travelling.Responsibilities include drafting and prosecution of patent and design applications worldwide, mainly for medical devices, in close co-operation with project team leaders and inventors.Responsibilities also include evaluation of patent searches, such us freedom to operate analysis, different types of opinions in the patents area and assisting with IP-related agreements, such as non-disclosure, licensing, consultant, and joint development agreements.
Formal requirements: An engineering degree, preferably mechanical.Full qualification as a European Patent Attorney is preferred, however part qualified candidates will also be considered.Excellent English language skills are essential.
Experience: At least 3 years experience of professional patent work within private practice or industry.Experience in drafting and prosecution of patent applications for devices is a prerequisite.
Successful candidates will have a proactive and enthusiastic attitude to meet the demands of R&D and the business.They will be good team players who can also work independently under pressure to meet deadlines.
