JOB DESCRIPTION Axis is looking for a Patent Engineer to the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) unit. The main activities for a Patent Engineer at Axis include reviewing and pursuing patentable ideas, as well as assisting in technology searches. Our main collaboration groups are inventors within the Research & Development organization, Product management and external patent counsels.

At Axis we see patent registration processes as long-term projects, requiring good coordination, a meticulous approach and good presentation skills. You’ll be reporting directly to our Director of IPR.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

Interacting with inventors Interacting with external firms Pursuing an invention to a patent application Prosecuting the patent application Studying new technology Searching databases
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS We believe that you have a Master degree in electrical engineering, computer technology or engineering physics – or similar, and an interest in learning about new technology. You already have a couple of years’ experience in patent work, either from an IP consulting firm or working at a company patent department. You’re inquisitive and know how to keep a lot of irons in the fire. You have very good interpersonal skills and you can make people talk. Furthermore you’re fluent in Swedish and English.

THE IPR UNIT The Axis center of competence for Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) covers matters such as patents, design patents, licenses, litigations, trademarks and domain names. We also handle coordination of IPR activities, such as clearance and landscaping, mainly within development projects.
