Briefly about the job
This is the best place to be for an IP professional, as you’ll be working with all patent matters, from inventions to enforcement. Acting through your team, and with stakeholders and internal and external collaborators, you take responsibility for technology related intellectual property (IP) matters in the relevant divisions. This includes creation and management of Technology IP portfolio, enforcement of Sandvik rights and managing risks related to 3rd party Technology IP.
You drive the creation and review of the divisions' Technology IP strategies in alignment with business priorities and Sandvik Technology IP Policy, and you ensure that protection of intellectual property receives proper attention, for example through patent boards and other decision-making forums. Handling post-grant procedures world-wide is part of the job, and so is managing the Technology IP financial information and reporting to the business. Your area of responsibility also covers reviewing terms and conditions for technology related intellectual property in agreements, such as joint development agreements.
You lead and coach your team in a motivating manner and create an empowering setting where everyone has the opportunity to grow. Competence development, recruitment and allocation of responsibility areas are important parts in your job, as you’re the one making sure we’re well equipped for future business needs.
In this job, you’ll be located at one of our sites in Stockholm, Svedala, Sandviken, Pune or Beijing, or another relevant site of the business you support. .
We believe this is you
An experienced patent professional inspired by achieving results through good leadership and teamwork in an international environment and in challenging projects. You have at least ten years’ experience in patent matters and the professional qualifications of a patent attorney. Experience from supporting business, handling inventions, drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications, and dealing with oppositions and contentious matters is required. You have been successful in patent enforcement and leading such projects. It’s a plus if you have acted in a similar business to ours. Also, you have a master’s or a PhD in a relevant technical or scientific area such as electrical or mechanical engineering, materials science or chemistry. Equally important to what is stated about your experience and skills set, is your way with people, being a great foundation to leading our remote and internationally diverse team. You’re creative, inclusive and communicative, and you enjoy listening and learning as much as you’re interested in sharing your own knowledge. With an open mind, you thrive when given the opportunity to build and uphold networks and relations across a global business, and you truly understand the luxury of being part of a multicultural organization.
