About this opportunity
To meet the demand of our growing patent licensing business, the IPR and Licensing is building for the future. In addition to securing freedom-of-action for Ericsson on the telecom market, substantial revenues are built through Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). Ericsson currently has some 60,000 granted patents and more than 100 patent-licensing agreements in place.

We are now looking for a Patent Professional who will join our Patent Unit Kista, Radio Access Network and will report to the Director Patent Unit RAN1!

What you will do
Identify and protect patentable inventions. This will involve working in close cooperation with both inventors and research and standardization staff
Handle and make decisions on patent applications and patents including drafting, filing and prosecution of patent applications
Assess the nature and desired extent of patent protection in view of Ericsson’s business
Review Ericsson technologies and services under all patent aspects
Provide an advice on validity, relevance and scope of both Ericsson and third-party patents
Ensure that R&D, Commercial and Legal management functions are fully aware of the significance of patent matters in their own areas of responsibility
Handle patent portfolios of particular technologies or products and support litigations
Investigate and support licensing and sales opportunities for Ericsson’s patents
Continuously improve the ways of working with the above responsibilities


You will bring
European Patent Attorney certification (applicants who have started with the certification or have working experience in the patent field will also be considered)
Experience with research in the Telecom area
Proactive approach to your work and drive to accomplish tasks and become a world-class patent professional
Master or Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering, Applied Physics, Computer Science or ICT
Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in English, both written and spoken
