Do you want to work in a hospital department with a good environment and good colleagues?
Our department of Pathology has seven senior positions and two residents. We have about 20,000 biopsies, about 4,000 clinical cytological samples and about 30 autopsies/year. We have a well-developed histology and cytology laboratory. We also have a good cooperation with Department of medical genetics and are in the process of further developing our molecular pathological analysis programme with next-generation sequencing technology (NGS) for use in cancer diagnostics.
Telemark Hospital Trust (STHF) provides hospital and specialist healthcare services for the Telemark population of just over 170,000 people. Patient treatment at the hospital is organised into seven different clinics, offering somatic and psychiatric services at several different locations in Telemark. The hospital has approximately 3000 full-time equivalent positions.

Skien is the administrative centre of Telemark, situated in a central area of Eastern Norway. It is a two-hour drive from Skien to Oslo, and Torp Airport is only 45 minutes away by car.
Job description:
Participate in daily diagnostics of histological and cytological tests and autopsies.
-Perform macroscopy.
-MDT.
-Active participation in resident education.

Skills:
- Authorized medical specialist in pathology.
- Norwegian license must be obtained before incorporation.
- Competence in histopathology, cytopathology and autopsy is required.
- Applicants should have the ability to communicate in a Scandinavian language or English. Candidates must be able to communicate in Norwegian language in a short period of time.
