The People & Capability Lead is a strategical quality role were you will be working across our multiple business areas (ESM Q, Procurement Q, GSC&S Q) and regions (EMEA, US and APAC) to ensure teams and individuals are building capabilities while developing to meet current and future business needs. The role reports into the Head of Operational Excellence within ESLQ, and is a member of the Operational Excellence leadership team.


The team of Operational Excellence has a key role in protecting the AZ reputation and license to operate globally by constantly improving and maintaining the External Quality Management System (EQMS). In addition, the team is responsible for the deployment of Strategy, People & Development, LEAN and IT across the whole of ESLQ.



What you'll do

* We´ll expect you to provide expertise in how to embed, integrate, prioritize learning and development within the busy lives of our teams across all regions
* Develop and implement an overall strategy for People and Capability development across the organization that fulfills near and long term capability requirements aligned to Global Operations overarching strategy, L&D Goals and Portfolio of Learning
* With enterprise focus ensure process, procedures, system, learning and tools are fully used by the organization
* Embed an appropriate operating model for L&D and SWP across all areas of ESLQ
* Engage and collaborate with ESLQ Engagement Team, BPOs, and teams to drive engagement and people development in our teams
* Engage and team up with Global L&D BPOs, RPCs and Global Strategic L&D network to share and capture standard practices
* Ensuring the professional development of the organization in their area to provide sufficient qualified resources and strong succession pipeline for their area and AZ globally
* In partnership with the business and HR oversee and design implementation of growth requirements, competence uplift and capability requirements


Essential requirements for the role:

* Significant pharmaceutical industry experience in quality and/or manufacturing and/or regulatory affairs and/or LEAN environment
* Passion for people and talent development
* Deep understanding about adult learning
* Proven strong interpersonal and leadership skills focus on achieving goals through teams
* Excellent stakeholder management skills
* Previous experience from leading change management initiatives across multiple business areas
* Resilient with a track record delivering business benefit
* Knowledge and experience in project management principles and techniques
* Strong communication and engagement skills, verbally and written in English
* Previous experience in working with LEAN in a Quality, Compliance or administrative area



Desirables for the role:

* Extensive industry network supporting lifelong learning
* Knowledge and interest about emerging technologies and trends required to secure capabilities and competence for the future
* Knowledge of both chemical and biological medicinal product manufacture
* Knowledge and understanding of GMP/GLP and GCP as applied to pharmaceutical research and development, safety testing and clinical trials
* Knowledge of quality management as it applies to computer systems
* Proven skills and experience in a learning and development organization or role
* Experience in working with a matrix organization
* Experience in working with global projects
