Arbetsbeskrivning
Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.
Are you passionate about software development in real-time applications and want to contribute to making Scania competitive in Autonomous Transport Solutions? Do you enjoy teamwork and seeing ideas realized in real vehicles and environments? Good, because we are now strengthening our perception team with a developer and you should apply.
Adequate perception is the key for successful automation, it lays the foundation for other functionalities and is in many aspects the most challenging part of the application. Making the vehicle understand its surroundings correctly based on sensor information and ego-motion is an absolute prerequisite for safe and efficient automation.
In our software today, we use information from lidars, radars and cameras and our main area of expertise is extracting information from the point clouds that they typically generate. We are constantly trying to find new ways of combining these different sensor modalities in order to ensure a robust and high-performing perception of the environment.
Your responsibilities
As a developer in our team, you will be involved in inventing, designing, implementing, simulating and testing perception-related software such as object tracking and static obstacle detection, both in simulated environments and in the real in-vehicle platform. You will work in a collaborative setting where your ideas are listened to and where we strive for high real-world performance.
Your profile
• You are a C++ developer (preferably skilled at both CPU/GPU) with a pragmatic, yet open mind
• You have an MSc in Robotics or similar
• You enjoy teamwork and understand that successful product development requires collaboration and dedication
• Knowledge and understanding of the perception pipeline, including sensor technologies and tools such as filtering, clustering and segmentation is a plus
• Knowledge of ROS is also a plus
