About the job

This role will offer you the chance to utilize your analytic and programming skills to its full extent, contribute to the strategic development of our solutions and validate the value for our customers.

AlfaWall Oceanbird aims at becoming the market leading provider of wind propulsion solution to the shipping industry and thereby prevent contribution to climate change and other harmful emissions from shipping. The first installations are scheduled to be in operation on an ocean-going car carrier in 2025.

AlfaWall Oceanbird AB is about to be established* as a 50/50 joint venture, owned by Alfa Laval and Wallenius but operated as an independent company. We are now building up the team, with highly skilled, motivated and passionate people, that will form the core of this company.

Key responsibilities:
* Develop and maintain performance prediction and monitoring systems for AlfaWall Oceanbird products.
* Develop sales tools and provide technical support to sales.
* Create and manage a technical library of aerodynamic, hydrodynamic, machinery and other models.
* Closely follow and implement legislative requirements and metrics in development and sales tools for wind power technology
* Provide analytical fact-based decision support
* Work closely with the product development team
* Engagement with AlfaWall Oceanbird partners and research projects.

Who you are:
* You have masters’s degree in aerospace, data-science, naval architecture, physics or equivalent.
* 5+ years of for the position relevant experience.
* Strong programming and database skills.
* Solid understanding of basic physics related to the area of fluid mechanics, preferably in the marine environment.
* Solid knowledge within optimization techniques, preferably also related to vessel velocity prediction and weather routing.
* Strong team player, you thrive working together with other people and competences in reaching a common goal.
* Curious and creative mindset.
* Perseverant with an analytical and goal-oriented mindset.
* Organized and structured with attention to details
* Communicative both orally and in writing.
* You are self-going and self-motivated.
