The arena
The aim of this role is to provide line leadership for the Gothenburg Imaging team in Personalised Healthcare & Biomarkers. The Imaging Team Leader will ensure that AstraZeneca project teams are provided with analytically validated biomarkers and diagnostic tests that add value to drug development.

Description of the role
The role holder uses highly developed people management skills to lead the team, and is also accountable for leading Imaging input to a designated project. Specifically, the role holder will be accountable for leading the delivery of significant workpackages of analytical biomarker validation as agreed with Personalised Healthcare & Biomarkers Diagnostic Experts. This will include working in collaboration with internal and external partners to design scientific experiments and technical refinements to convert exploratory biomarkers to validated potential diagnostic and/ or internal decision-making biomarkers.

The Imaging Team Leader works collaboratively with senior leaders in the Personalised Healthcare & Biomarkers function to deliver the capability to drug project teams. The role holder is accountable for ensuring that the roles and responsibilities of the team are delivered demonstrating behaviours and values aligned to AstraZeneca Code of Conduct and supporting policies, standards and procedures; including accountability for compliant management of Budget, Safety, Health and Environment.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Provide line leadership for a team of 3 Scientists. Communicate a clear and inspirational vision based on a long-term view of the capability. Lead performance management and personal development of team members through coaching, mentoring, and motivating.
Monitor and ensure compliance with all AstraZeneca Policies and Standards and immediately address instances of non-compliance. Deliver ethical and compliant management of budget, Safety, Health and Environment within the team and on behalf of the capability as required.
Implement delivery of biomarkers and diagnostic tests for use in clinical trials, regulatory submission and commercialisation as required by the capability
