Concrete Innovation Centre (COIN) - and Saint-Gobain Weber seek PhD candidate (25.5 2009) (Fjernes fra Innsida 5.8 2009) For client we are now looking for a Phd Candidate.The goal for the PhD is to develop a mineral based high performance light weight aggregate (LWA).The project will be organized within the Centre for Research-based Innovation (SFI) COIN.The candidate will through this program participate in a group of 6-8 PhD candidates.Saint-Gobain Weber has a long experience in production of light weight aggregates (LWA, Leca) for several purposes.The company will now increase its effort in developing new, innovative LWA with high performance.We have seen a strongly increasing interest in such aggregates to make superlight concretes for sandwich structures in particular, and used in e.g.marine structures (ships, pipelines, etc.) The position will be at NTNU, Trondheim, Norway.The candidate will thus have close contact with SINTEF and NTNU.In addition, the candidate will be a part of the international research environment in Saint Gobain Weber, and this requires good communication skills in English.More information about the partners can be found at www.saint-gobain.com, www.maxit.no, www.sintef.no and www.ntnu.no.
