Identifying, understanding and managing aquatic biodiversity in intensively managed forests and under an increasingly extreme climate

Research subject:

Qualifications:
Essential


• in a relevant subject (ecology, biology, forest science or similar)
• Experience with data analyses
• Experience with ecological sampling and field work
• Strong work ethic
• Excellent oral and written communication in English
• A valid driver’s license

Preferred


• Experience with metabarcoding/eDNA techniques
• Experience with ecological stream sampling (macroinvertebrates, algae, microbes or similar)
• A working knowledge of species traits and different approaches for quantifying biodiversity
• Experience with working independently & organizing own work schedule.
• Experience with working successfully within a team.

Employment as PhD student, full time for 4 years

To qualify for third-cycle (Doctoral) courses and study programmes, you must have a second-cycle (Master’s) qualification. Alternatively, you must have conducted a minimum of four years of full-time study, of which a minimum of one year at second-cycle level.

Applicants will be selected based on their written application and CV, degree project, copies of their degree certificate and transcript of records from previous first and second-cycle studies at a university or higher education institution, two personal references, and knowledge of English. Please note that applicants invited to interview must submit attested copies of their degree certificate, or equivalent, a transcript of records from previous first and second-cycle studies at a university or higher education institution.
