The Department of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering (CSEE) at Luleå University of Technology (LTU), Sweden, has a position available as PhD student (doktorand) in the area of integrated circuits applied to RFID
applications.


Research Area
RFID is an established technology for identification, tracking, and data acquisition.In order to expand application areas, and to facilitate growth in regional electronic industry, the project will perform research on integrated circuits with applications to RFID.We expect the work to be performed in one or more of the followin areas: low-power temperature measurements with minimal calibration requirement, efficient rectification of RF power, or improved signaling circuits for RFID applications.The work is expected to include theory, high and low-level design, layout, and evaluation of manufactured devices.The work will be performed as part of the electronic design group at EISLAB, at the department of computer science and electrical engineering at Lulea University of Technology, Sweden.Cooperation with local electronics industry is expected.

Requirements:
We seek candidates with an MSc/civ.ing.degree in Electronics, Electrical engineering, Physics, or equivalent.Applicants shall have good knowledge in electronics in general, with particular focus on analog integrated circuit design.Good knowledge in usage of tools for IC design and layout is required.Prior experience in evaluation of manufactured devices is highly valued.Previous academic as well as industrial experience in the area is credited.The applicant must be fluent in english.You should be a good team player and have an ability to take initiative.
