Two PhD-student positions in Physiological Botany: plant growth and development
Department of Evolution, Genomics and Systematics, Evolutionary Biology Centre, Uppsala University.
We seek two highly motivated individuals interested in pursuing a PhD degree in Physiological Botany within the area of plant growth and development.The projects involve genetic and molecular methods and utilise the model plant Arabidopsis.The announced positions are planned for four years.

1.Genetic control of meristem function in Arabidopsis(Annika Sundås-Larsson)
2.Pattern formation of vascular tissues in the Arabidopsis root (Annelie Carlsbecker)

Requirements
Applicants should have a BSc or MSc degree in plant molecular biology and/or genetics, or a related field, and should have a strong interest in using molecular and genetic tools to study key questions in plant growth and development.General molecular biology laboratory skills are advantageous.

Closing date for applications is Sept.15th 2006, and the successful candidates could start during the autumn 2006.
