Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences Department of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment in Ultuna 1 PhD student in the research education subject: Aquatic geochemistry Risk assessment and quantification of erosion and losses of particulate P from areas dominated by clay soil A PhD-student position is available immediately after the application time closes at Dept of Aquatic Sciences and Assessment, SLU, Uppsala, Sweden.In a new research project we will study how erosion of soils erosion and consequent losses of particulate phosphorus from clay soils in Sweden contribute to increased eutrophication of inland waters and the Baltic Sea.We will focus on the development of a soil analysis routine to predict erodibility of clay soils and their vulnerability to losses of particulate P. As a PhD-student you will be involved in the work above, as well as in the up-scaling of results to field- and catchment-scale in order to apply new knowledge in mitigation strategies. Qualifications Applicants should hold an MSc in geochemistry, soil or environmental sciences, or equivalent.Experience of water- and/or soil-related field and/or laboratory work , analyses of varying-scale datasets and hydrologic and nutrient transport modeling is meriting.A driver license is required.The application should include your Curriculum Vitae, a short description of relevant experience and your specific interest in the position, copies of degree certificates from higher education, relevant publications, and contact information of at least two references.
